August 2024 saw the running of the Marathon pour Tous.
For its first operation, Hurrah installed two grandstand canopies in record time… and dismantled them even faster!
The Marathon pour Tous is an event open to the public, with registration required, held at the heart of Paris’ Olympic setup for the 2024 Olympics. Run at night, the event brought together 20,000 participants, who set off from the Hôtel de Ville to reach the Esplanade des Invalides.
It was here that Hurrah “laid” its first grandstand-covering canvases, with a major problem:
of course, everything had to be installed before the start… and removed before the start of the official events the following day. More complicated…
Arriving at the Olympic site at night, the “MPT” had no audience in the stands. To avoid the “empty chairs” effect, a solution was found:
After several scouting sessions with the organizer – ASOthe organizer of the Marathon pour Tous, we defined the fastening system and validated the formats.
Two 450 m² canvases covered several hundred seats.
A few days of printing and assembly later in our workshop, we’re off to Paris, transformed into the citadel of world sport.
Once the (many) checks had been carried out, the Hurrah team – 12 people – waited for the stands to be completely emptied of archery spectators before starting installation.
The first screwdriver was turned on at around 6 p.m.: it was imperative to finish before the site closed at 9 p.m. sharp. Challenge met!
Dismantling was even more of a challenge: the theoretical arrival of the last participant was scheduled for around 4:30 a.m., and everything had to be removed before 6 a.m., the arrival time of the teams dedicated to the Olympic marathon starting at 8 a.m.
Mission accomplished: not a single staple forgotten between two seats!
On this project, Hurrah was responding to a classic customer need: to optimize an unused surface area to turn it into an effective communication space.
The complexity lay in the assembly and dismantling deadlines, with no margin for error.
Result: total success for Hurrah’s first “field” operation, carried out with precision, responsiveness and mastery.
