Inflatable Torii Arch for the Morbihan Judo Committee

The Morbihan Judo Committee commissioned an inflatable arch from us, with very precise specifications. We had to reproduce a Torii, a traditional Japanese gate, which was realistic and easy to install.

Background

As the organizer of tournaments in southern Brittany and an intermediary for the French Judo Federation, the Comité de Judo du Morbihan is keen to offer its competitors a choice setting.

The purpose of the request was to build an inflatable arch, as close as possible to a Torii gate.

This red-and-black wooden structure, traditional in the Japanese landscape, is in fact one of the symbols of Shintoism: the gate separates the sacred environment from the profane.

A 5-metre torii arch

After several design proposals, the customer opted for this version, 4 m high and 5.30 m wide. Two-tone, like the original, this simple-looking door is an inflatable that’s a little more complex than it looks.

Partitioned at the top, guaranteeing the angular effect so difficult to achieve on inflatables, this complex inflatable arch is an assembly of 37 parts.

The attention to detail that guarantees an exceptional product extends right down to the choice of thread colors.

An inflatable that's easy to install

Two people are all you need to transport and install this colossal door. It all fits into an XL sports bag. Once the two main legs have been positioned correctly – (1.60m apart :) – and weighted accordingly, all you have to do is switch on the blower to see this mass of red and black fabric become a rigid, majestic structure.

The entire design and manufacture of this arch was carried out here, exploiting unique know-how and uncompromising standards. And another satisfied Hurrah customer.
